17,000 Trox Active & Passive Beams
Project Detail:
TROX active and passive chilled beams supplied via ACS have been installed throughout the three main commercial towers of the prestigious Barangaroo International Towers development on Sydney’s harbourside.
In excess of 17,000 active and passive chilled beams have been supplied to this 270,000 square metre NLA project over a total of 127 floor levels, representing the single largest chilled beam supply contract in Australian history. The project employs TROX type PKV passive chilled beams and VDW ceiling swirl diffusers in the centre office zones, and TROX type DID632 active chilled beams in perimeter office zones.
ACS have worked closely with NDY and the Client throughout the 2-year design and 3-year delivery process to finesse a solution that provides excellent levels of occupant comfort, high levels of energy efficiency and the flexibility to accommodate the needs of demanding blue-chip tenants. The validation, accreditation and testing requirements – including 8 weeks of project-specific testing at TROX laboratories in Germany – are an indication of the extreme levels of diligence exhibited by the design team in the selection of ACS and TROX as their chilled beam supply partners.
